How To Win The Day

Resistance is the enemy. In the War of Art Steven Pressfield explains how the art is an inner battle against the resistance or opposing or conflicting opinions, fears and anxieties that cause you to not take action. To write, coach, speak, with power I have to cultivate habits and rituals that center and bring me back to the practices and processes that advance my life and career forward. If I take the action I need to take each day through my daily dials, and I feel the way I intended to feel, then I win the day.

Resistance is what’s stopping you from writing the book or producing the album. It’s the inner battle that sabotages your progress if you don’t learn how to let go of the resistance and allow the things you want to have happen in your life to occur.

You have to work with god and the laws of the universe in order to win the day.

Why you need to win the day?

You need to win the day because that is how you will win your life.

Little by little. You will put together a unique recipe of habits and process that Piece by piece will build up your life and harvest your fruit.

Turn your life into a masterful performance.

God gifted us with the most amazing faculties and it is our job to harness the power of our inner os to create our reality and turn thoughts into things.

Structure

Modern Musicians achieve grounded true flow through what we call an optimal workflow structure. This is at the center of their working structures and environmental optimization as well as processes and workflows to generate optimal performance. To produce flow in all areas of their life.

Becoming Autotelic

Take control of your consciousness and master your destiny. It starts with a positive attitude and optimistic approach to life. You learn how to do tasks and activities for the sake of doing them. It’s how you stay fresh. It’s a process of intrinsic motivation and doing something for the sense of being complete and whole. Becoming autotellic is an exercise in the process of mastery as it pulls and propels the momentum you have going in every area of your life into the present moment and experience of your life. If consciousness is a constant stream of awareness than becoming autotellic is the process of synchronizing your conscious, subconscious and superconscious minds toward purposeful activity that is inherently rewarding, satisfying and fulfilling to do. In doing this you find a sense of flow. With autotellic being, you learn to act as if, you learn to be as if - and you become the person you were destined to be. You live into the blueprints of the life you love. Through the flow protocol you can become autotellic. You can raise your vibration and master your destiny.

Systems

The Goal achievement system is the tool that Modern Musicians use to track and progress their habits and processes. The goal achievement system is how you stay out of overwhelm and overload. It is how you can make the plays every day and advance your life and masterful mission.

Habits

Your success habits are how you will win the day. Take them seriously. They will take you to where you want to be. Stay consistent with them.

Water

This is vital throughout the day. Water is a most essential element to healthy bloodflow and circulation throughout the body. You should drink 8-12 glasses per day starting with a glass first thing in the morning to replenish your dehydrated state. Water is a must for energy and focus.

Stretch

You stretch because you have to prepare your movements with flexibility instead of rigidity or unnecessary stress. Just a small session a couple times a week is sufficient to find noticeable improvements.

The foundation

Your foundation is your self development and self actualization the path and the process that leads to mastery liberation and full self realization. Your foundation is built through your thoughts, feeling, speech and action done consistently over a long period of time. They are the habits, skills and mindsets that shape your identity.

Morning ritual mastery

How you start the day, sets you up for success throughout and at the end of the day. One of the most important of these habits is your morning ritual. Your morning ritual is how you set your day up for success by starting it off right.

Visualization and segment intention

I now love both visualization and segment intention, but it wasn’t always that way. These are two success conditioning tools that I both love and hate to be honest. Because I have had some frustration with both of them, but when you can do good visualization and good segment intention it’s probably one of the best investments of time and attention you could make.

First work priority

This is the way to get the most significant thing of the day done at the beginning of the day and then keep the momentum going throughout the day with similar tasks at similar times each day. Building habits and routines is the key.

Workblocks and worksets

The workblocks and worksets you prepave throughout the day are essentially where you determine how much you want to bite off and chew today? How many things do you think you can do well or excellent each day?

Main Moves

These are the most significant of your daily dial tasks, as they are what most move the needle forward on your career. They are most often the practices that will produce the most amount of joy and fulfillment for you short and long term.

Meditation

Modern Musicianship integrates the head, the heart, the hand, the soul and the voice to fulfill your full potential. Meditation is a foundational and fundamental practice that reconnects you to your true self and recalibrates your energy body to renew and replenish itself automatically. This is a must have practice for any person or musician. Meditation is now proven science that works to improve just about every aspect of your life when done consistently over a period of time. You will notice almost immediate benefit from a meditation practice in the short term as well.

Exercise

Your daily dials should consist of some form of exercise practice or regimen, are how you build up greater health and fitness. Exercise is good preventative medicine you can take for ensuring a long and healthy life. You can do 10-30 minutes a day, or if you want to go all out you can do an hour or longer workout.

Recreation

It’s important to learn how to recreate yourself through play and hobbies you enjoy. I have a love for the game of golf. It’s a passion and a hobby I’ve enjoyed since I was boy. I’ve gone through many cycles with my game and I think I have a pretty solid swing and technique developed with it. I am always learning and seeking to improve and will eventually pursue the improvement as a life quest to see if I can become a scratch golfer in a period of time.

Daily RPM Review Planning and Maintenance

This is what you’ll do each and every day at the end of the day in order to review how it went and what what you want to accomplish tommorrow as well as anything you need to maintain. First review how the day went, plan for the next day, and then maintain any systems or processes that need to be maintained.

8-10 hours of sleep

This is the standard and you should not deviate from a solid and consistent sleep schedule of 8+ hours each night. There are so many things that happen during the day. That happen during recovery throughout the night, and then allows the full evolution of you to come back to life the next day. I prefer 9-10 hours each night.
