Strategic Learning Is The Future
I'm still confused... So let's try to be a little more logical about this and flesh it out, because this topic is something that we should consider further.
I'm afraid, you're afraid, we're all afraid...
OF WHAT?
Well, change.
But WHAT has to change?
Not me, YOU!
But what does that actually entail?
Yes, it means your metamorphosis from an apathetic drone to an enchanted underworld explorer...
Or... It means the transformation from lackluster mediocrity to contributing hands and minds to the incredible and uncharted galactic reserve!
It Doesn't MEAN what you think it means. Nothing has to change about WHO you are, you are an AMAZING person, of that i'm certain.
But i think the most valuable SKILL, for now and into the future is the skill of strategically learning new skills.
I don't think it's that big of a mystery that the biggest problem with traditional forms of education is the lack of reason WHY someone NEEDS to learn something, (which should be prominently built into the beginning of the course material) and HOW this applies to real world skills one needs to develop for the path they've chosen.
Yet again, it's still slightly baffling that this really hasn't caught on yet...
I will boldy state that aside from some social skills and valuable experiences, i believe i could condense the "knowledge aquired" from any 4 year program down into a couple months of total immersion.
Not only that, but i believe i could do a better job of learning what i actually needed to learn.
It starts with going to the people who are ALREADY DOING what you want to do, at a successful level.
I could interview them, as well as ask them WHAT i should ACTUALLY learn to succeed out in the real world and then get damn good at those few things.
It's a STRATEGIC path of learning, that i believe is missed by most people, through no fault of their own, and of course the best intentions, but nonetheless because that's what "they're supposed to do."
Just a little rant for you today... I don't mean to offend anyone, or challenge your beliefs...
But i believe there is so much out there that needs to be done, and there are so many who could contribute, but fall into this "i need a degree" trap.
Just start your way from back to front... WHAT do you want to do? What do you have to be good at to do it? What/How can you go about doing that.
Strategic learning is the future.
