Lessons From 2020

Lessons from 2020

As 2020 comes to a close I wanted to put the year in perspective and do a review of the most important lessons I’ve learned this year. To review the year before is apart of my annual performance review process and leads me into my planning for the next year. I’m certain you can benefit from all these conclusions if you apply them in your own life.2020 brought with it the worst pandemic the world has seen in 100 years.Lives were lost, people were broken, disheartened, their power at times was challenged, and also people rose or began to build the foundation for their future greatness. With Covid still a threat, we may still be facing many more days of wearing masks and social distancing. But i want you to know that you are special beyond comprehension, and that your incredible art will move the world, you just need to adapt and overcome the situation.Things have shifted in the Modern Music Business and modern musicians and creators have embraced live streaming, and test every avenue for audience and fan base growth. Modern Musicians create new content weekly and update their socials on a daily basis as well as email their audience every week and in some cases every day. That may be more than necessary for many, but if you'll notice, most successful publishers, larger established name players email me something almost every day. This drives traffic but it also drive sales. What's certain is that 2021 will be much better if we make it that way!For me it was the year I started my podcast and got back into regular writing again.I aim to continue to deliver you new fresh content every week and roll things out as we head into the book launch phases. May 2021 bring you the fruit of your passion and desires of your heart. Here are 12 of the biggest lessons i learned in 2020.God bless.1) Strengthen in all your positive positionsThe many perception filters that you’ll pick up throughout your life can tear at you and seek to wear you down in your thoughts and feelings about yourself. With 2020 being such a test for the marathon that is life, COVID 19 has been devastating for many people who’ve endured what I’ve heard has been a very difficult treatment and healing process. It’s clear that you need to learn to let your brain strengthen your positives and not ruminate on the negatives. Covid 19 has been a rough time for most people where they’ve had to learn to adapt to an uncomfortable environment and were then hit by the market recession, try to remind yourself of all your positive positions in all the things you care about more now than ever.2) Be grateful for what you do haveIsn’t this the first rule of keeping it? You might not have a lot. You might just think you don’t have a lot. But what you do have is probably a lot more than you let yourself think in a lot of moments. The universe will bring you more of what you are grateful for and appreciate in your life.3) Never stop learning! Self education is a lifelong journey!Continue your path of discovery and adventure to develop the skills you need on your journey home.Self education can be the best path to becoming the person you want to be. Determine the curriculum for your learning journey and get to stepping on the path.4) Personal growth is still the key to the development of value and self and relationships. It’s still all a journey of your personal development first and foremost. Your artistic development and your career development are important, but they are byproducts of your own personal growth. You must move this back up to the top of the list for 2021.5) Focus on the core projects and revenue streams of your content businessThe top 3-4 projects, and top 1-3 revenue streams should occupy your time and attention until you have these core assets running you should develop your STARS your Self, Team, Assets, Resources, Systems and processes.6) Lean in and Double down on your purpose and missionYou want your purpose and mission to be the driving forces of your life. Your reasons why need to be etched into your subconscious mind. Lean in and use 2021 to get to deeper levels of engagement and fulfillment driven by your purpose and your mission.7) Don’t betray yourself - tap into your heart and come from the heartI know that 2020 was a hard on people mentally. It caused all of us to face our fears. What I learned is that the heart is where I want to come from as much of the time as possible. People come and go in and out of your life, don’t betray yourself because you were influenced by the perception filters that tried to convince you of a false self.8) Want what you haveThis is a key to happiness, and finding ways to want what you already have you keep actively refreshing that connection with your heart. This is what you want to do with everything that you love and value in your life. Build it up, tap into the deepest meanings behind why you do it and keep your dominant focus on wanting what you have.9) Feel the futureLive into those feelings now. Feel what it’s going to feel like to be the person you want to be now. You have this amazing capacity and gift that you can give yourself constantly if you allow yourself to feel the future. Feel the future and feel how it feels to be your best self.10) Segment intentionSegment intention is one of the most powerful tools I’ve ever learned for architecting and manifesting feelings, intentions, experiences, achievements and desires. What you do is pre-pave a pathway for what you intend to have happen, or feel, or experience over a given time or situation. It is putting yourself into a state of allowing what you want to manifest in your life.11) Create beautiful statesIf you realize that you can create a life for yourself that brings renewed fulfillment each day you begin to see how by managing your thoughts, you can manage your feelings and thus manage your behavior while creating beautiful states to live in each day. This is the key cycle to success. Your thoughts and feelings create your state, your state determines the action you take and the way you take that action.Living in beautiful states is key for you live the good life.12) Let go and let godThis is the biggest thing to remember. Ask for what you want and then allow yourself to receive it by letting god work in your life in the ways he does. God is the master of this universe and we want to grow deeper in our connection and understanding of god-and how we work together to create success and harmony. If you are ready for Music Business Coaching,There is STILL TIME TO BOOK YOUR MUSIC BUSINESS BREAKTHROUGH SESSION HERE.Stay Fresh,Jamie LegerThe Music Business Architect for Independent Artists & Creators--> FREE GUIDE: Double New Fan Signups At Your Next Show!Proudly Helping Hundreds of Modern Musicians liberate the music business, declare their artistic independence, and unlock their full potential doing what they love-on their own terms.Founder & CEO of The Music Business Liberation AcademyAuthor of The Music Business ManifestoCreator of the Music Business Blueprint
