One of the main things you learn to do as a Modern Musician is to build out either email or multi-channel messages in what we call a sequence. A sequence is the order of a communication with a message and purpose. Core to The Modern Musician Lifestyle, Modern Musicians build and launch a Music Marketing System. When you build out your Music Marketing System you will be building several sequences that lead fans through experiences with your content. Launches consist of a launch sequence, a pre-launch sequence, and a post launch sequence. Every album you create will be the resulting product available at the end of a sequence of messaging to build up the value and the relationship with the audience, in order to buy it. This is what you are doing with a sequence. It’s a targeted sequence of communication. Their are potential fan sequences designed to generate potential fans from possible fans, their are new fan sequences designed to generate new fans, their are true fan sequences for creating true fans and super fan sequences for creating super fans as well as street team or affiliate sequences for building an affiliate network, there are also partnership sequences, sponsorship sequences, and we’re just scratching the surface. But look for The Music Marketing System to be launching either season 4 in 2022 or sometime in 2023. Sequences construct the blueprints of your Music Marketing System through Unique Fan Experiences or fan funnels and the customer experience journey. These are what progress the fan along the fan journey, across the fan lifecycle. Through sequences you can create your own economy. Now to translate the vision into reality, go and map out your next sequence, and as always get into the ready state. Sequences can be short and sweet and long and amazing or somewhere in between, each sequence calls for it’s own reasons for expansion. You have to define the reasons and the vision for the sequence and then begin to form the content and objectives of the sequence. In The Music Marketing System you will learn a specific process that you can use to create sequences and make sales through launches. Message This is the meat of your content, it should be edu-taining if not have transformative influence. Start an outline of the messages that you will send, the next 5 email messages that you will send. Start with the first message and tell the stories in a way that adds value to and brings out the shared values in your fans and followers. Channel This is the distribution channel that you will communicate your message on. There can be one or many channels for each campaign. Eventually you will want to build up to multichannel campaigns and an omnipresent marketing presence, as this is how you’ll stand out, become outstanding in a noisy world. Timeframe A launch can be a week or two, but a campaign can take 3-6 months, while the the average is 45 days. Social media campaigns take around 3 months, while seo keyword campaigns can take years, what we call a fundamental market leadership positioning campaign takes 2-3 years. As a modern musician you should be in this for the long term and thinking in terms of what is going to most contribute to the growth and fulfillment of your business and your life. Workflow 1) Build out a workflow for your pages 2) Build out a workflow for your emails 3) Build out a workflow for the campaign planning and implementation Tools What tools do you need to be able to run this campaign? Relationship database CRM Website Zapier Airtable Automations Now think of the automations you will need to create to make this whole idea into reality. For me that usually means creating deals and can include sending direct mail or sms messages in addition to messenger messages or even instagram and tik tok. Campaign Name Name Your campaign and begin the marketing process if you have not already. Link Copy and paste your tracking link After you launch and review your launch you’ve completed your first campaign and installed an evergreen launch sequence that can run for you year round.
