Build More True Fans: Tip #1

Once again, your job is to continually be sending Possible Fans to your Invitation Page and into your Guest Pass Experience. You'll do this via many tactics you will be learning about in this tips series, (more found in the Modern Artists Blueprint and also in the Academy) and your goal is to continually be generating at least 10 New Fans each weekday.Whether that is locally, via in person 1-1 connections sending them to your New Fan Invitation Page - which you should be doing everyday (until you've got a strong Core built up) as covered in the Roadmap; or that is through any of the digital channels-what you need is a constant stream of New Fan Flow. If you have a steady input of New Fans, then you will at some point develop a steady stream True Fans. (once you get tuned in to your audience and dial in the right offers) This will be a small percentage and will vary based on a number of factors-which is why it is so vital that you truly engage with New Fans, and through developing unique Fan Experience Pathways-develop a community and ongoing dialog with your loyal Fans. New Fans and Casual Fans are nice to have a steady supply of, but what you are truly aiming at and focusing your attention on is developing True Fans and ultimately your Super Fans. This is what Gaga calls her 1%ers. She focuses the majority of her time and attention on connecting to, building experiences for and finding unique ways to support and add value to her most committed fans. She calls her fans her Little Monsters. What might you glean from this strategy, and is their a resonant name, idea, core value, message or ideal that you could connect with your audience through? Try brainstorming some ideas for what you could name your fan base. Now, let's get to your quick tip and mini-mission for the day.Get More True Fans Tip #1: Create a link to your New Fan Invitation Page to place in your dynamic email signature, and forum signatures. (if applicable) Don't go overboard listing every notable achievement and accolade, just add your Unique Value Position (UVP), and/or your Mission Statement or a catchy descriptive bit about your Fan Magnet with a link back to it. Feel free to dress it up a little (just a little) by calling attention to things like what's taken us 2 years and $10,000 can be had free of charge, ALONG with some exclusive behind the scenes footage that provides fans a window into your world. etc.Something like this is compelling. Whereas, Go GET MY NEW SINGLE HERE!!! not so much...

Point is make it clear, compelling, professional, and make the options as simple as one maybe two links and that's it. Don't list every darn social/musical profile you've ever had. You're much more likely to get a New Fan if you purposefully guide them into your New Fan Experience and let your system do it's job, as opposed to sending them to an old myspace profile full of spammy comments.

Now, go get your treat, complete your mini-mission, and we'll rendezvous back here tommorow for another. Digital Treat: Todays treat is a pretty smooth tool I've used for a while that is a must have gmail plugin for Chrome and Firefox. If you've never heard of Rapportive, it is a free plugin for gmail that aggregates and shows you information about the person you’re emailing, right within Gmail: including their social networking profile summaries, picture, and even history of your communication. It is a fantastic way to connect social media right within your Gmail as you process your email you suddenly have a bunch more options to connect with someone across a variety of channels as well as find out more about someone across the bulk of their online platform. It basically shows you everything you need to know about your contacts within a couple of clicks. It adds a social CRM capability right into your inbox experience even including location information making a lunch-time meetup more convenient. So ya, just a really neat tool i'd recommend if you use Chrome or Firefox as your browser, and you can get at a really great price... F.r.e.e!

There are a couple of basic Rapportive hacks you should know:

a) when you run into your contact at a conference, you can immediately recognize them (since you’ve seen their picture next to their email before)

b) you never have to guess anyone’s email again

c) when you need or want an introduction to someone, you can find mutually shared connections and then ask for a direct introduction
